For this assignment in my Color & Image class, we were required to mimic an artist's style, and impose it onto a famous artwork that was assigned to us. Working once again with my Frida Kahlo piece, I was assigned to Richard Lillash, and illustrator best known for his collage and paper-cut works. He can be found here: http://www.richlillashillustration.com/

A grid of his work and the inspiration I used for my piece can be viewed above.

For this project, I went and sought out many different paper textures to scan in. Preliminary sketches were created, and I traced my angular drawing in Adobe Illustrator. The paper textures were then imposed into the the shapes I drew in Illustrator. Frida's silhouette features cropped bits of letters between her and Diego Rivera. The warm colors of the piece were meant to evoke the tumultuous drama that ruled her romantic life.

This project was completed in October 2016.
