UNT Homecoming 2018 T-Shirt Design
Created for Printing & Distribution Solutions
Each year, the Printing & Distribution Solutions department at UNT releases their own custom design for homecoming t-shirts. This is done to generate revenue for the department, & to promote school spirit for the university.

As one of my first large-scale projects done with PDS, I was tasked with creating a t-shirt design that would generate us good publicity, in addition to bolstering our department's imagery. The requirements of the shirt were to:

1) Feature our mascot, Scrappy the Eagle, carrying a banner or flag of some sort.
2) Have the words "Go Mean Green" in the design instead of "Homecoming 2018." This would allow the design to stay relevant longer.
3) Have our required "Est. 1890" branding imagery somewhere on there.
Due to Homecoming being a football-related event, I wanted to create a "tougher" look for Scrappy. I was heavily inspired by tattoo & biker imagery of eagles. Since UNT has been using its age & longevity as part of its branding rhetoric, I opted for a vintage-inspired look as well. I had a rather.... difficult time finding references for an eagle gripping a banner without running into a *plethora* of particularly racist imagery. It was an amusing design challenge to not evoke any prejudiced sentiments with my design.

Below, you can see my design being used on the PDS website as part of an advertisement for our shirts. The head of our promotional department, Michael Miles, created the banner below:
I was elated to learn that my t-shirt design generated over $22,000 worth of additional revenue for our department. I'll long cherish this is a hallmark of my time with PDS.
